N95 Respirator Fit Test Training

We were fortunate today that Mr. Anek Kaewpan, MT, MPH, gave a group of us from DMDP and NAMRU2 a session on how to do N95 respirator fit testing.  Mr. Kaewpan is a Quality and Biosafety Officer with the Strengthening Laboratory Capacity Program (SLCP) of the Thailand MOPH-US CDC Collaboration (TUC) in Bangkok.  He is a member of the Biosafety Association of Thailand and the Institutional Biosafety Committee of AFRIMS.   Anek gave an overview of respirators and testing solutions and then taught our group how to do the fit testing.  He came prepared with a variety of 3M N95 respirators and Fit Test Kits.  Thanks to Dr. Toni Whistler, Director of the SLCP at the US CDC in Thailand for working together with Ms. Joanne Letchford, WHO Cambodia Consultant, to arrange this very important session.
