4th-5th Sept 2019: National Guidelines for Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) in Health Care Facilities: Dissemination and Training workshops, Battambang. Jointly organized by DMDP, WHO and MoH DHS

The Department of Hospital Services (DHS) of Ministry of Health (MOH), with support from WHO Cambodia and DMDP, have developed National Guidelines for AMS in Healthcare Facilities. An AMS program includes a multidisciplinary team that work collectively to ensure the appropriate use of antimicrobials in a healthcare facility. Excessive and irrational use of antimicrobial agents for the treatment of human infections has been a long-standing problem in Cambodia; therefore, there is a strong need to implement AMS practices throughout the country. After two consultative meetings with relevant stakeholders, the National Guidelines were translated from English to Khmer and officially endorsed by His Excellency Professor Eng Huot, Secretary of State of MOH on August 21st, 2019.
