DMDP staff are actively supporting Cambodia’s response to COVID-19

A DMDP team was already onsite when Kampong Cham Provincial Referral Hospital (KCPRH) admitted their first cases of COVID-19 infections on March 11, 2020. Within days DMDP was coordinating with the Ministry of Health, KCPRH, and World Health Organization to conduct training workshops for clinical, laboratory, and Provincial Health Department staff. DMDP staff provided presentations, activities and materials related to appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), patient triage, specimen collection, laboratory biosafety and infection prevention and control (IPC). DMDP staff have continued similar training activities, active consultation and mentorship at Battambang, Siem Reap and Takeo Provincial Referral Hospitals in addition to contributing on national committees developing national guidance on IPC, clinical management of patients, and specimen collection.
