What We Do

The Diagnostic Microbiology Development Program was created in 2008 to establish microbiology laboratories in hospitals and recruit volunteer clinical microbiologists from the USA to train laboratory staff in resource-poor countries. To date, we have sent six clinical microbiologists from the US to train laboratory staff in Cambodia. We have implemented microbiology laboratories in five Cambodian hospitals and provided technical assistance to the microbiology laboratory in the National Pediatric Hospital in Phnom Penh. You can view a Power Point Presentation of current DMDP activity in Cambodia here.
